Inside Live Oak Collection : Set of 3 Shadowboxes
In a massive lightning storm, a 150 year old Florida Live Oak tree was hit. The lightning traveled down the side of the tree, the water in the cells beneath the bark heated and boiled, making steam, causing it to explode the bark right off the tree, flying almost 40 feet away. The tree recovered well and is thriving, but the bark was too amazing not to preserve. Three pieces of this bark are displayed here, framed in square wood shadow boxes, with the inside of the bark and all its natural beauty facing out to be admired. Quite a story. Quite a tree.
